On entering the new Ehrle assembly plant in Dietenheim, southern Germany, the coherence of the overall concept strikes you immediately, from the architecture to the plant equipment and CD-compliant colour scheme.
Founded in 1961, Ehrle is the world’s leading vehicle washing and cleaning technology provider. In the new assembly plant, which came into operation in 2018, the entire range of Ehrle products is manufactured by around 60–100 employees.
To provide seamless and reliable support for all its work processes and ensure efficiency, the company decided on a smooth-running aluminium handling system supplied by KITO ERIKKILA. KITO ERIKKILA’s modular, expandable crane systems are greatly appreciated by Ehrle, thanks to features such as the smooth-running chassis and rails. At the customer's request, a unique solution was designed: metal triangles on the frame members provide additional reinforcement to prevent tilting, even with excessive loads or faulty operation.
Another advantage of systems supplied by KITO ERIKKILA is the internal conductor lines, which are now a standard feature and ensure a safer and less cluttered work environment. According to the decision-makers at Ehrle, there are good reasons for choosing these. Apart from the cranes' excellent quality and good handling, the decisive point for equipping the plant entirely with KITO ERIKKILA systems was their flexible design.

To keep the configuration as simple as possible in everyday working situations and avoid confusion, KITO ERIKKILA recommended a uniform crane rail profile size and only one trolley type.
A profile size with a height of 180 mm and a width of 100 mm proved most suitable. In addition, Ehrle uses standardised steel trolleys due to their optimal design for the required load capacity of up to 200 kg. Due to the lightweight and the almost self-explanatory assembly diagram, the on-site assembly of the complete crane system was finally carried out by Ehrle itself in cooperation with KITO ERIKKILA. Another plus is the low weight of the aluminium rails, enabling them to be suspended below the ceiling without heavy equipment.
Founded in 1961, Ehrle is the world’s leading provider of innovative solutions for vehicle washing and cleaning technology, characterised by high quality, innovative technology, modern design, and excellent cost-efficiency.
